Celebrity Apprentice?

Last night my daughter eagerly awaited the premiere of Celebrity Apprentice and, unfortunately, I went a long for the ride. I’ll start by saying, it’s quite misleading to call this show “Celebrity” Anything. Where are the celebrities? I didn’t recognize more than half of the cast. Those who I did know, made me cringe.

We have Geraldo Rivera, who calls himself a war journalist. I was disgusted. My daughter wanted to know why. So, I told her how, in 2003, Geraldo went on national television and drew a map in the sand showing where our troops were heading for a surprise attack on Iraq. If Iraq was tuned in, and you know they were, they had our whole strategy thanks to Geraldo’s big mouth. Geraldo’s celebrity team chose this man as a “project leader” and took his suggestion to name the team “Vortex,” a word the weatherman has come to make me detest.

Then we have Ruby Huxtable aka Keshia Knight Pulliam, who I haven’t seen since she was five. She also wanted to be “project leader” for the women. The project was about raising money by selling two kinds of pies (savory and sweet) that the team creates. The winning pie, picked by the DUI Cake Boss, gets $25,000. The winning team is the one that raises the most money. It’s all about the money. Everyone’s biggest problem with Ruby is that she only raised about $7,000 herself AND refused to called “deep-pockets” Bill Cosby for a donation. A call that could have placed her team first. Her reason? She hasn’t spoken to Bill in about five years and didn’t think it was appropriate. I am guessing this was filmed before all Bill’s dirty laundry got aired, because who would want their charity tainted with Cosby’s money? Well, of course Donald Trump would. He says even though this was taped shortly before the rape allegations surfaced, she still should have asked him for money, it’s for charity.

Maybe my least favorite “celebrity” is Kate Gosselin. The non-stop talking, controlling, abusive mother of eight managed to get herself on this show. Having seen several episodes of “Jon & Kate Plus 8” I have found that this woman has zero “likeability” as far as I am concerned. She constantly berated her husband, was obsessive over her children, and totally insistent on getting her own way, just to name a few of her never ending faults. Most of all, I would say she exploited her children as much as she possibly could to keep that show going. I find that inexcusable and I have to wonder what the effects all those years on television will have on all of them. Now where was I? Oh yes, she is on the show. A show that criticizes people on their performance or lack there of. Kate doesn’t not accept criticism well. As a matter of fact, she doesn’t accept it at all. So when someone accused her of being lazy, she had to hold in her natural response to explode to the point that it looked like she was going to breakdown and cry. I know there are going to be a couple of good breakdowns in future episodes. Kate just rubs people the wrong way all day.

I wondered what the hell Vivica Fox was doing on the show? She really is a celebrity. Granted she hasn’t done too much lately, but still?

The next episode is on tonight . . . lucky me. Another two hours of torture unless Kate has a good meltdown or someone wipes that smug look off Geraldo‘s face. That might make it worthwhile.

Kate Gosselin Needs Paparazzi

One of Kate Gosselin's seven year old sons decided that instead of getting in the car, he would get under it.  There he is with his head behind the front passenger tire.  Kate is getting some flack for not getting out of the car and supervising her eight children while they all got into the van.  Fortunately, Collin escaped injury and came out of the incident without harm.

Now I have never been a fan of Kate's and find her to be obnoxious, loud and all around intolerable.  Her claims that she wants to best for her children, while she constantly puts their father down every chance she gets grates on my nerves.  In my opinion, her behavior towards Jon, on the Jon and Kate Plus Eight show, was nothing short of verbal abuse.  I don't know how they stayed together as long as they did.

Kate asked Jon for one more child before they had the sextuplets.  They already had twin girls and Jon was happy.  But Kate had to push the envelope and try once more.  And she succeeded six times over with her mission to have another baby.  Kate found a way to pay for all the bills with a reality television show.  The show that paid the bills eventually took it's toll on the family.  Jon and Kate split up and Kate moved on to another reality show, I think it was Kate Plus Eight.  It soon became clear to me that Kate was and is still very interested in being a celebrity.  The problem is she wanted so desperately to be a mother that she ended up adding the responsibility of raising six extra children to her life.  Now, she really doesn't have "time" to be a celebrity. Her children need her. She shouldn't be looking for nannies to raise her kids while she travels and desperately tries to get spots on shows or a show of her own.  Her first responsibility is to those kids.

Maybe she needs to re-evaluate her priorities.  Maybe she needs to see she is not really a celebrity, but she is really a mom.  Maybe she needs to get out of the van and make sure her kids are all safely inside.  The paparazzi is going to lose interest in following her around one of these days. They won't be there to pick up on her slacking. So Kate really needs to focus on her kids and get back her "mothering" state of mind.

Lindsay Lohan Kicked Out Of Party!

Even “party” people don’t want Lindsay Lohan around and Lindsay never learns her lesson. She is the last person that needs to be out partying, it always gets her into trouble with the law.

The story is that Lindsay was not welcome at the Marc Jacobs Fashion Week party (have no idea who he is), but managed to get in to The Gallery at The Dream Hotel Thursday night. Lindsay doesn’t like to take no for an answer and eventually made her way into the event. The reason she was person non grata is that the night before, Lindsay threw a glass at a waitress in a violent episode, and word got around. However, as soon as Lindsay made herself comfortable at a table, security guards came over and asked her to leave The Gallery. Lindsay got up and left without a scene and promptly went back to the Boom Boom Room where she had the incident with the waitress the night before. They allowed her back.  I'm not totally heartless, I do blame a lot of Lindsay's mistakes on her parents (she never really had any) and the bad example they set all along the way.

Kate Gosslin On My Last Nerve!

What is it about Kate Gosslin that she will not fade into the sunset and off the television screen? Her show has been cancelled after the last episode aired recently. Kate managed to insult all her fans when she said Jon had a regular job and is content with “mediocre” for his children, while she insists she needs a television job in order to give them the best. All the viewers with regular jobs and mediocre lifestyles just have to suck it up. Meanwhile, Kate, who wanted one more child and got six more instead, is hardly being a mother to them. The children have been affected by growing up on television and many have some serious behavior issues. What would be “best” for her children is to have a full time mother who isn’t screaming at everyone 24/7! Oh did I forget to mention that Kate is driving around in a two door sports car? I’m sure that is best for her eight children. Maybe if she is kept off television she will go back to parenting before it’s too late for all her children?
